Autoclaved Aerated Concrete(AAC), also known as Aircrete,has become one of the most used building materials in Europe and is rapidly growing in many other countries around the world.

AAC is produced out of a mix of quartz sand and/or pulverized fly ash (PFA), lime, cement, gypsum/anhydrite, water and aluminum and is hardened by steam-curing in autoclaves.

Because of its high resource utilization ratio(from 1M3 raw material 5M3 AAC can be produced), AAC provides producer large profit margins, and at the same time makes contribution to environmental protection.

Advantages of AAC
A)extremely lightweight
Degree of porosity of AAC reaches 70%-80%. Its volume density falls between 400-700kg/M3, which is equal to 1/3 of that of solid day brick and to 1/5 of that of common concrete.
This is comparison of volume density of some common construction materials

B)excellent thermal insulation
Because of lots of air holes and micropore AAC has a very low thermal conductivity and therefore a very high thermal energy efficiency is achieved. This results in savings on heating and cooling costs.

C)high fire resistance
For the raw materials are mostly inorganic and the material itself is of heat-insulating property, AAC has an extremely high fire resistance. And when it meets fire, usually only the surface will be hurt, while the essential construction performance won’t be impacted.

D)high workability
As a result of the excellent size/weight ratio, constructing with AAC is very rapid. Even though AAC is a solid building material, it can be cut, sawn, drilled, nailed and milled like wood, making it an extremely workable product.

E) great acoustic insulation
The porous structure of AAC provides a high acoustic insulation;

F)high compressive strength
AAC is a solid product, therefore making it highly load bearing. The entire surface area is used in structural calculations;

G)low energy consumption
There are extensive sources of raw materials of AAC. The materials most can be got easily and cheaply. Besides, it doesn't require lots of labor power during the production process.
